Application password does not works

It seems with new wordpress version, application password is incorrect each time for username

Hi, I've had the same problem.
You don't need this plugin anymore : https://developer.wordpress.org/rest-api/using-the-rest-api/authentication/#basic-authentication-with-application-passwords

I simply removed the plugin and it worked again. Hope it helps.

I had the same issue and deactivating the Basic Auth plugin solved the issue for me too.

To fix it, add this after line 37:

		// try authenticating via application password
		if ( \is_wp_error( $user ) ) {
			$user = \wp_authenticate_application_password( null, $username, $password );
